How to choose a belt as a gift for your husband
Your husband’s favourite belt is a better starting point than a generic gift list. Compare the fit, colour and buckle to choose an update that feels comfortable and familiar.

He may own several belts but consistently choose one. Use that belt as your reference for colour, width, buckle shape and everyday shoes. If he wears different belts for work and weekends, decide which role your gift should fill. An outfit worn only a few times a year is less useful as a guide to an everyday present.
Measure something that already fits
Measure the full leather strap of a comfortable belt without its buckle, and record the width. Note which trousers he wears it with, since rise and wearing position affect the length needed. Do not rely solely on the size stamped inside another brand’s belt: it may describe the distance to a hole. Sergio Belotti sizes refer to full strap length.
Update one detail while keeping a familiar fit
A new gift does not have to change everything. Keep the width and buckle type while trying another texture or shade. Alternatively, keep a familiar colour and discuss a different fastening. Automatic and clamp buckles work differently; the appearance of a closed buckle alone does not identify the mechanism. Check the model’s specifications.
Picture him wearing it tomorrow
Imagine an ordinary morning outfit: actual trousers, shoes and a top, rather than a styled campaign image. If the belt works with that outfit, the gift has a clear purpose. Every metal detail need not match exactly, but a similar level of restraint or boldness helps the outfit feel coherent. A familiar leather shade is a sensible starting point when a new colour feels uncertain.
Leave the final fitting to him
